Next month's dedication of the new Joplin High School and Franklin Tech will have two VIPs: Vice President Joe Biden and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. Joplin High Principal Dr. Kerry Sachetta tells News Talk KZRG they broke the news to students Wednesday afternoon.
"We're excited that the kids are going to have an oppotunity to be in the presence of Vice President Biden and also Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. So it'll be a big day."
This will be the Vice President's first visit to Joplin. Secretary Duncan has been to Joplin following the May 2011 tornado. The dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be Friday, October 3rd at 1pm.
