Here’s an update to a story News Talk KZRG has been following.  There’s been an arrest in connection with Tuesday’s (8/8) homicide in northern Newton County.  You’ll remember 57-year-old Lanny Holman’s body was found in a ditch on Holly Road just east of Highway NN.

“Our investigation led us to obtain a search warrant for an address on Douglas Fir Road, just south of Joplin.  We believe at that location, we found where our homicide occurred.”

Newton County Sheriff Chris Jennings tells News Talk KZRG 44-year-old Christopher Michael Jones of Joplin has been charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action.  Jones is being held on $750,000 bond.
